How to reach Prangli and what to look forward to ?
If you want to have a quiet moment but do not want to travel for hours to reach a quiet spot then Prangli is just for you. To reach it check the boats schedule from here (the boat leaves from Leppneeme) or contact boatcharter from here to arrange for a trip from Pirita harbour. If you want to stay longer than just a day you can find accomodation from here. There are several additional ways to get to the island:
You can arrange for all this from a single place, just fill in the booking form and we would arrange all the details for you.
What will you find in Prangli ?
Long quiet beaches, shop where you can have food, a place to eat called “Black hatch” (“Must luuk” in estonian) first aid medical service, post office, elemantary school, few local people (around 100 people live yearround on the island of Prangli), some tourists and vacationers like yourself, a lighthouse , sea gulls and other birds, juniper and pine forest,sovit-time borderguard towers, wooden church from 1848 with a graveyard, gas spring (they drilled back in the 70s looking for uranium but found natural gas and now people can barbeque their sausages on it for free)
There is all you need for a nice calm holidays.
Some suggestions:
-
if you want to come with the post boat “Helge” and you can come during the week (monday to friday) then you are lucky because it might get crowded during the weekends because the boat can fit only 36 passengers.
-
If you intend to stay longer then bring cash with you because there isn't any ATMs on Prangli and there is no way to pay with a card.
-
Do not take a bicycle with you because the islands roads are sandy and the bike ride is not enjoyable.Anyway Prangli island is small enough to have a pleasant walk.
-
Keep the island clean so the tourists after you can enjoy it too.
-
Make fire only at designated places
-
The prices at the islands shops are littlebit higher than on the mainland because the turnover is lower
